Quincy School
Quincy, Massachusetts (Designed at Pennsylvania Division)
This project was awarded by the school district in May of 2000.
Children went to their first day of class in September 2000.
This was a fast track project for which HWA helped develop and
design unique modular school components to create additional
classrooms for an overcrowded district. Consisting of 22 open
modules with exterior wall, corridor wall, roof and floor as
one unit, four new classrooms were erected in just three days.
The following year HWA provided design and shop drawing services
for a 2nd floor addition not anticipated with the original design.
By utilizing composite topping to level out of the roof to create
a floor, the space was doubled in very little time.
School Block Program
(Designed at Pennsylvania Division)
Utilizing the innovations developed with the Quincy School,
HWA and the precaster developed "standard" products
for use in school construction virtually anywhere in the USA.
Molds were made to be easily modified to create "Schools
blocks" of various sizes. Two schools have been completed
in the first year of the "School Block" program inauguration
- one in Long Island, NY the other in West Chester, PA. HWA
continues to work closely with the precaster to improve on the
design and production efficiency of the School Block modules.
Dell Office Building
Nashville, Tennessee (Designed at Pennsylvania Division)
This is a four story total precast structure consisting of special
architectural precast columns, load bearing spandrels, inverted
tee beams, a double tee floor system, and several precast shear
walls providing lateral stability. HWA performed all structural
designs and developed erection drawings and piece details on
schedule for this very fast track project.
Circle Point Office Building
Denver, Colorado (Designed at Pennsylvania Division)
The five level crescent shaped all precast structure utilized
the services of HWA to provide component design and erection
drawings for the precast producer. Architectural columns and
spandrel beams provide a pleasant appearance in the office park
while structural precast components inside provide structural
stability and performance.

Metro Courthouse
Albuquerque, New Mexico (Designed at Pennsylvania Division)
This high profile government facility is clad with architectural
precast concrete. HWA provided shop-drawing services including
erection drawings, imbed layout drawings, and piece details.
HWA worked closely with the precaster's engineering consultant
to ensure that his design was properly reflected in the drawings.
This flexibility of service is another attribute of HWA as it
provides services to the precast, prestressed concrete industry.
